Addressing Myopia in Children Attributed to Mobile Device Usage

Myopia, commonly known as nearsightedness, has become increasingly prevalent among children, with mobile devices being a significant contributing factor.

Excessive screen time, coupled with inadequate outdoor activities, has been linked to the development and progression of myopia in young individuals.

Studies indicate that prolonged exposure to the blue light emitted by screens can disrupt the development of the eyes, leading to refractive errors. Parents and educators play a crucial role in mitigating this issue by encouraging kids to explore puzzles and play board games and  outdoor play, implementing screen time limits, and ensuring proper eye care measures are taken.

Collaborative efforts between healthcare professionals, schools, and families are essential in addressing the growing concern of myopia in children associated with mobile device usage.
