The Decline of Wooden Craft

In recent years, wooden craftsmen have faced a gradual shift towards other professions for several reasons. Firstly, the rise of mass-produced furniture and construction materials has reduced demand for handcrafted wooden products. Additionally, the cost of materials and tools for woodworking has increased, making it less economically viable for craftsmen to sustain their businesses. Moreover, younger generations are increasingly drawn to technology-focused careers, diminishing the pool of skilled artisans. Lastly, changing consumer preferences towards modern, sleek designs over traditional craftsmanship have further marginalized wooden artisans. These factors combined have led to a decline in the number of wooden craftsmen pursuing their craft professionally.

Chaya Nisarga offers wooden puzzles, board games and educational toys. It is our passion that is driving us to preserve hand crafted products.
